Saving Your Favourites for Later
You can save favourite search results to access at a later in the Cross Data Search service. You must be logged into the Cross Data Search service to save a search result as a favourite, or to access your previously saved favourites. You can also add notes to your favourites.
Saving a search result as a favourite
To save a search result as a favourite:
- Log into the Cross Data Search service, if you are not already logged in, by clicking on the Login button at the top right of the screen. You may need to register or enter your details to complete the sign in process.
- Perform your search and view your search results. For each result returned by the search query, a 'result card' is displayed.
- At the top right of each result card is the Favourite button. When unselected, the icon resembles a heart with a plus. To favourite the selected search result, click the Favourite button. To indicate that the search result is now a favourite, the icon for the Favourite button changes to a pink heart.
Viewing your favourites
To view your favourites:
- Log into the Cross Data Search service, if you are not already logged in, by clicking on the Login button at the top right of the screen. You may need to register or enter your details to complete the sign in process.
- Click your name at the top right of the screen to open the user menu. Click Favourites to display the Favourites page. A list of your favourites is shown on the page.
- Optional: Add notes for each favourite search result using the Your notes for this saved favourite text box.
- Optional: You can choose to hide or show your notes and other user metadata about your favourite by clicking on the Hide all user data and Show all user data buttons.
- Optional: You can choose to view a summary table of your favourite search results by clicking the Table view button. To return to the previous view, click the Full button.
Removing a search result from your favourites
To remove a search result from your favourites:
- Log into the Cross Data Search service, if you are not already logged in, by clicking on the Login button at the top right of the screen. You may need to register or enter your details to complete the sign in process.
- Click your name at the top right of the screen to open the user menu. Click Favourites to display the Favourites page. A list of your favourites is shown on the page.
- Find the favourite that you want to remove, and click the Favourite button, with the heart shaped icon, at the top right of the result card for your search result. The search result is removed from your favourites.
You can also remove a favourite from your search results by clicking on the Favourite button. When you click the button, the icon changes colour to grey and becomes a hear with a plus sign.
